Hi, I am Mia.
I scoop learning for a living.
I am a Melbourne-based instructional designer with a Master of Education (Digital Learning) from Monash University. I design learning experiences that are structured, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable. The kind people actually finish, remember, and talk about.
My brain does not slow down. Ever. So I gave it a chef assistant. Meet Capy. He is a capybara in a chef's hat and he tastes every recipe before it leaves the kitchen. While I am busy founding EdTech platforms, writing children's books, designing warehouse eLearning, singing at aged care homes in Melbourne, studying a Masters, and eating chocolate ice cream at midnight, Capy makes sure nothing ships without a quality check. Someone has to keep the parlour running.
And yes, thanks to Capy, I was nominated as 7News Young Achiever Victoria 2026. Wohoo!

Three scoops I never skip
Scoop-sized
Bite-size modules that respect everyone's time and brain capacity. Less content, more change.
Outcome first
Every program tied to a measurable outcome. Not vibes. Not completion rates. Real behaviour change.
A little joyful
Warmth, humour, and craft. Learning should not feel like a punishment and it definitely should not look like one either.

Award night, 2026 โจ
Pinch me7News Young Achiever Award ๐
Victoria 2026, Nominee
Nominated for the work behind English With Mia, 1000+ learners, 11.6K followers, and hundreds of students who landed jobs, scholarships, and study abroad spots. Capy fully approves.
In the pantry ๐ง
Every tool I actually use.
Recipe of the week ๐
- Start with the learner, not the content.
- Prototype small. Test on one real person. Watch what happens.
- Cut anything that does not make the scoop sweeter.
- Name the honest limit of what the learning can do.
- Garnish with a story every single time.

Beyond the kitchen ๐ค
A few things you would not guess from the resume.
I sing at aged care homes
Every week I perform for residents in Melbourne aged care facilities. Learning how to connect with an audience who did not ask to be there has made me a better designer.
Chocolate ice cream is my reset button
Chocolate ice cream or Oreos. Sometimes both. No regrets. Capy fully approves.
I wrote a children's book
Lingorangers is a children's English learning book. Because if you can make a six-year-old excited about language, you can make anyone learn anything.
I have taught in 6 countries online
UK, China, Bhutan, India, Palestine, and Indonesia, all online. Cross-cultural communication is not a soft skill for me. It is the foundation of everything I design.
How I got here ๐ฆ
Every chapter made the next one better.
