- 1Empathise
Started from the learner that is me: identified the exact craft gaps in my own toolkit and what I needed Amanda LXD's program to unlock for client work.
- 2Define and Imagine
Named the gap clearly: visual polish, AI-assisted asset creation, and faster ideation. Imagined a sprint portfolio that proved each skill with a real deliverable.
- 3Ideate and Wow
Generated multiple concepts for each of the 5 deliverables. Chose the angles that would make a hiring manager or client lean forward, not just tick a brief.
- 4Prototype and Build
Built and shipped all 5 deliverables inside the sprint window: infographic, explainer video, slide deck, microsite, and Canva AI asset library.
- 5Test and What Works
Validated with mentor feedback from Amanda and folded the strongest techniques straight back into live client work. The proof of what works is the next project getting better.

Look before you build
Collecting references and decoding them before touching Canva completely changed the quality of my output. The blueprint process made every design decision intentional.
Design principles are not optional
Contrast, hierarchy, proximity, alignment, repetition, white space. Checking every design against these six principles before shipping became non-negotiable.
Done beats perfect
Shipping a real deliverable with honest reflection taught me more than endlessly refining. Each week stacked a new skill on top of the last.
